essianic Judaism is a biblically based movement of Jewish people who have come to believe in Yeshua as the promised Jewish Messiah of Israel. Yeshua is the Hebrew name for Jesus, which means "Salvation."

Today, there are tens of thousands of Messianic Jews in the United States alone. Some have estimated as high as 100,000. Messianic Synagogues are springing up in almost every major city across the country including Buffalo.

Other nations such as Canada, England, France, Israel, Australia and South Africa are experiencing a growing movement of Messianic Jews as well.

MESSIANIC RABBI FRANK LOWINGER

Having come to faith in the G-d of Israel in the winter of 1975, today, Frank Lowinger holds an ordination with the International Alliance of Messianic Jewish Congregations and Synagogues (IAMCS).  He resides in Buffalo, New York, with his wife Margaret.  They are the parents of three adult children, Rebekah, Aaron, and Naomi.

Rabbi Lowinger was reared in a Conservative Jewish home, the eldest son of a Holocaust survivor.  He graduated from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY with a degree in accounting and marketing.  Upon graduation, he invested in a bakery business that he owned and operated for sixteen years.  He went on to earn a degree in Ministerial Studies from Berean College in Springfield, Missouri, and has completed course work in the Jewish studies program of the State University of New York at Buffalo.

From 1984 to 1987, he served as Assistant Pastor at New Covenant Tabernacle, Tonawanda, NY, founded by the Rev. Paul Schenck.  In the summer of 1987, Rabbi Lowinger founded and became the Messianic Rabbi of Congregation B’rith Hadoshah, an indigenous Messianic Jewish Synagogue.  He has hosted a television program entitled “Messianic Judaism Today,” and presently participates in a weekly live call-in TV show “Ask the Pastor.”

Rabbi Lowinger has been a regular speaker at the annual conference of the Messianic Jewish Alliance of America (MJAA), held each July in Harrisburg, PA.  He has taught extensively on Jewish studies, and has lectured at Valley Forge Christian College, Houghton College, North Central Bible College, as well as the State University of Buffalo.  He has taught courses at the Messianic Jewish Bible Institutes both in Budapest, Hungary and Odessa, Ukraine.  In addition, Rabbi Frank has also ministered amongst congregations in Israel, Germany, Poland and Canada.

Currently, Rabbi Lowinger is the shepherd of Congregation Brith Hadoshah Messianic Synagogue, a position he has held since 1987.  Rabbi Lowinger has served on the Executive Committee of the Messianic Jewish Alliance of America and is currently their President.  He also serves on the Steering Committee of the IAMCS.  Rabbi is a Board Member and Officer for the Resource Center for Jewish Ministry in Cincinatti, Ohio, and serves on the board of the Messianic Times newspaper.
